      looking good.... it would be nice to be able to pull grates out while loaded to check meat etc then slide back in... keep the hands away from the heat a bit...maybe some clips under the grates with a slot in the far back to remove when needed?

        some more progress,built a fire yesterday,burned out real nice,with the big smoke stack this thing drafts awsome,thinkin bout throwin on some ribs later today

                  never seen stack come out of bottom...is there a reason or benefit doing it that way?

                    Well I put it on the bottom because I was told if its on the top all the smoke will go strait out,by having it at the bottom the smoke is forced to cross over the meat

                      That's how mine is mounted. Keeps the smoke in and on the meat.

                      Hot hot does the chain handle on the fire box door get?

                        At 500 degrees you can still grab it bare handed.not hot at all
