    Cover Scent

I use this method alot here in Carolina. Started doing it when i lived in Ohio. I take the leaves and twigs from the native trees/bushes where i'm hunting and the dilute it with a 4 to 1 ratio of distilled water. Great post

I have used this before, it works great, but you do have to dilute it or it is too strong and unnatural. And only use it where there are cedars.

that would be a deer attractant!

Makes you wonder what the old timers did to kill deer, I mean they didn't have camo, scent lock, tinks, cover scent, etc. My Grandfathers, grandmothers and others just hunted with the wind in their favor. Sometimes I think we as hunters are getting too lazy and rely on hunting products too much. We could all stand to become better "hunters" but in the mean time I'm going to try this.

            Great idea JackH!
ya my grandma tells me stories about deer hunting with a .22 back in the day. nothing but head shots with iron sights, no camo and no blinds. wish i was skilled enough to do that now!

The berries will make stains, the branches will not. I did this for years.

When I first started this I put the berries and all in. After a while, my clothes started getting redish tint to them. I quit using the berries and no more red clothes. I also diluted mine. I think I was going 1/2 juice 1/2 water. I laso strained mine through a coffee filter so the spray bottle would not clog up. Haven't made any in a while, but it does work if your around cedar trees.

Another way I did it was to use an old blender. Just rake the green off the branches, add a little water and blend away.

I think that'll get you locked up and thrown off of the lease, were I am at! But hey, it's a free country, and what happens on the lease, stays on the lease.
