    c'mere deer recipe

Anyone know the recipe or the ingredients to c'mere deer or any other attractants. I am trying to take it easy on my wallet this year and make this stuff at home instead of buying it.

Just throw a little corn out. It works better. Not sure on the ingredients.

Corn with vanilla in it works great. I have seen many deer come in with their noses in the air. Also corn with sweet koolaid packets works good. Won't keep the hogs away but you will have some koolaid stained deer noses running around.

I think somebody posted a recipe one time and called it magic dust. You may want to do a search.

          MAGIC DUST
50# Rice Bran or Wheat Bran
          Large bag of Brown Sugar
          3 packages of Strawberry Jello

Pour half of Bran onto large bucket. Mix in brown sugar and jello.

Pour portions into 1 gallon zip lock bags.

Pour small piles at known yardages from stand.

I do not remember who first posted this but I am going to try it.

Why not buy 25# of bran then?

I think that bran comes in a 50 lb sack.

Dumars Spring Mineral Mix from tractor supply, a loose mineral with a sweet smell. Runs about $16 for a 40lb bag which is enough for three or four sites.

Can you put this in a spin feeder? What is cheap?

I wouldn't recommend puttin it in a feeder.

Last year we got it for around 8 bucks a bag....BUT we only used 2 bags the whole season. We would carry out small buckets or gallon zip lock bags. Pour it out where you want. Does will fight over it, Ive seen them kick their own fawns over it

seems like it would be better and less messy to pour it INTO the bucket rather than onto it
