Been doing this for a couple of years now. It also works on Fire ants.

Dude if I could fly then that would probably kill me also. I loves me some bacon.

Is there a record-book minimum on wasps?
I had some here this last summer that I think would
              go gold-medal.

Wasps have an exoskeleton or waxey layer that holds all their body moisture in.The detergent which has grease cutters in them dissolves it and they instantly dehydrate and die. Another product called silica dust will do the same thing as well as boric acid.

I buy Demon WP from a local feed store and mix in my pump up sprayer. I spray all my stands inside and out in the Spring, again in September. Wasps don't build nests in my stands and it always amazes me how many dead wasps, bees, spiders, etc I find in there. No odor at all from the spray.

Yes it does... The dish soap (especially Dawn) will eat the waxey layer from their body or exoskeleton causing all internal body fluids to dissapate. This is a near instant death if mixed in concentration..
