Here's the hexagonal bow blind I built.

For several years I've been taking notes on the different blind designs on this site and finally came up with one that had all the features I like. The platform is treated 2x6's with carpet covered plywood for the floor. It is hexagonal in shape with three windows on the front which gives me almost 180 degrees of shooting coverage. Dimensions - 73" wide and 78 inches deep, 68" high in the center, sloping to 65" at the eaves.

The shooting windows have the same dimensions as my Double Bull T5 - 7"x15" and start 31" from the floor. I'm one of those who can't see well through mesh so I made sliding windows. Viewing windows on the side are made with basic grey window screen.

About the camo - as you can see I painted black "trees" over the windows. Since the inside is black this should help the windows look the same, open or closed. The roof is painted plywood. After I got it to the lease I added a drip edge and roll roofing. My original plan was to have a buddy weld-up a short platform to get it off the ground but we never got around to it. For now it is sitting on flat cinder pavers. (I'm sure the rattlesnakes will appreciate having a place to den up!) It is dang sure hot inside - I think you could bake a cake in there if the temps are in the 80's or higher but I will be glad to to have a non-tripod spot to hunt when it's cold and/or rainy.

I like it. I've got a pop-up ground blind mounted to a wooden base. I prefer a tripod for visibility, but the ground blind is nice when wind direction is a problem or it's cold/rainy.

I will get around to building one of these one day. They have to be really nice when it it cold and drizzling rain. For now, I will stick with the ladder stands for the pigs and ground blinds for the deer.

You did a really great job with it!

Very nice work. You are correct these blinds are great on really cold or rainy days.

Not sure exactly but my guess would be $400 or so, maybe a little more.
