Communication without internet

Hey fellas, First of all Happy New Year to all of you.

Second, as many of you may remember, some 4 months ago I said Iranians are out in the streets trying to take their country back from the Islamist Mullahs. Fast forward, several thousand have been killed, arrested, missing or handicapped due to severe Torture or being beaten up in the streets...

New groups and small militia are being formed to fight back but the government has the upper hand with weapons and helicopter, tank and airplanes. The government is shutting down the internet to keep all this from reaching the rest of the world.

My question here: What is a Free and good way to communicate with others without Internet? when internet is cut off people cannot communicate and cellular lines are monitored. Not everyone has walkie talkies either.

I did some searches and found some apps that turn smart phones into walkie talkies, but I'm not sure how good they are and if they need Credit Card info or cost anything (People there cannot pay due to currency difference and different credit card system)

I'm looking for some Reliable ways to let the fighters communicate with each other without internet and cellular connection. If it comes down to it I need to buy or start a donation campaign for some walkie talkies to send to Iran to help the movement.

Hand held ham radios. Baofeng radios are cheap and surprisingly good with a replacement antenna.

I can guess why you asked that.... OK... you MAY think they're a "bunch of Iranians" and are not "good enough" or inferior to what you may think is superior or because you think they're enemies (mostly because you don't know enough about them to think that)....

Do you know a reliable way to communicate with others without Internet and walkie talkies? I need to know because I want to help people under tyranny who are fighting for democracy and freedom. I think that alone will give any Free Born American's Blood rush and give them goosebumps and motivate them to try and help.

Ham radio...

you can text if you have the equipment

with boosters and good amps, you can bounce a signal to china

while you can be triangulated...there are ways to hide that too

I'm wondering that if they're monitoring cell phones and such.. whats to stop them from monitoring radio waves?

The 8r has a bit more bump. Get a good antenna.

Also repeaters can put you out there at a LONG distance.

F8 baofeng is what I have for hiking around but if there’s a repeater set up nearby the uv5r is pretty serviceable too. You can get them directly from baofeng in multi packs but they are available all over the place. 25 to 80 dollars each depending on what you get. Lots of info on YouTube about them

Radio is more easily intercepted than cellular unless you have military grade encrypted frequency hoppers. No one can afford that, well except the Taliban lmao.
