Lauren Boebert just called out president trump on his McCarthy endorsement. On live tv. During her speech to Congress.

Straight up let everyone know McCarthy had Trump call them to vote for McCarthy. She said it needs to be the other way around. Trump needs to call McCarthy and tell him to step down.

Why the panic over this? Getting rid of McCarthy would be a huge win. If we end up stuck with him as Speaker, so be it. Either way, it's gonna be a Republican eventually. Hopefully it'll actually end up being an actual conservative though. Having a major swamp rat, even if he has an R after his name isn't a huge win.

completely agree, we have to change the way things run in Washington and not be afraid. McCarthy won't do anything to push a conservative agenda.

I'm searching for the truth. I heard(not directly) that they wanted a chance for discussion, not guaranteed passageon 3 things and the 1 vote rule change; balanced budget, border crisis, term limits. MC said no. That was from one of the members mouth....so I was told. I've searched for the interview but can't find it.
If that is true, I all FOR IT as I have said BEFORE.
However, I did ask you for your sources. No reply yet. I am open to changing my mind if there is proof, beyond what their opposition SAYS, of them changing the goal post.

Boebert what specifically asked what she / they put forward that MM wouldn't agree to and instead made the broad-based claims you reference above. Those claims have been repeatedly refuted and are actually in the plan that was laid out and discussed in the Republican conference.

If you were to take her and that group's claims as being true, then you believe that the 91% are against stopping funding of securing the border, stopping the IRS agent hirings, etc. That is simply not fact.

None of those folks pushing against MM have, at least to date, specifically stated what MM actually refused to agree to that they can't live with.

I'm just saying that if you're going to engage in such open warfare against the new speaker, you should be able to voice exactly what it is he represents that you refuse to accept as well as who you want instead.

They don't like him. It is personal. They should be honest enough to just say that out loud in public and make their case honestly as to why. Not sticking it in the faces of every fellow Republican up there who is chomping at the bits to get started undoing whatever they can that was done under the Dem majority.

Not unless there were enough members absent or voted "present". It's a majority present and voting. If something were to happen and 10 republicans couldn't make it in, Jefferies could become SOH.

If you’re in distress about the contentious Speaker voting process, you’re not ready to fight for the wholesale changes we need in the Republican party.
