Not only does it take a train a LONG time to stop, switching tracks could lead to a head-on train-to-train collision, that’s IF there is another track magically there to change to.

Voodoo, I doubt anyone believes all cops are winners and the cream of the crop. Is everyone in your line of work a flawless genius? Cops are and should be held to a higher standard, unfortunately, some can only reach so high.
I have in-laws in law enforcement, one, I would love to arrive on scene if I needed, the others, I’d prefer to handle the situation myself.
