More cops lacking basic common sense

And its only gonna get worse as the few that could possibly be beneficial retire or quit

I’d be doing a little ball bat swinging and tendon slicing if that were my loved one.

Ain’t parking on tracks an elementary skill ? You have the arrogance up front with the LEO chuckles at the end.

Way to go, be proud !

      Guess I missed it.

Now you have to tell cops traffic safety too because they are dumb

I hate to tell you but it’s not just police officers, and it’s not just the younger generations either. The systematic dumbing down of our current society has been purposeful, and deliberate. These miniature super computers we hold in our hands now and the talking heads telling us what we should think and do are, in my opinion, the primary causes along with the multiple chemicals being forced upon us that make people docile, and in some cases put them in a mild stupor.

My opinion is it was an execution masked as a traffic stop. They would write you a ticket for parking on the tracks.

Am I supposed to believe cops (plural) are that dumb ?

They should face the death penalty

Voodoo. I hate saying it but I highly doubt these young cops were involved with anything intentional. Hiring is now focused on “social worker” types and a lot are lacking common sense. The hiring processes in major cities has been lowered to get a diverse department. Classes are not top scores but are filled by diversity.

In this case it’s just lack of common sense and life experience

If I was a LEO on here I would be sick of Your S***! Get a life man or maybe some help.

You say that from a brotherhood point of view ?

We should actually be sick of their scat.

To protect and serve, not harass, provoke, and put into danger.

Unfortunately, the law enforcement guys on here from what I’ve seen over the years are fast becoming the exception rather than the norm in terms of law enforcement in general. I think Glen is dead on with his observations about the kind of candidates they’re seeking out and hiring now.

A lot has to do with availability of applicants.

When I tested for a 100+ officer department, there were over 200 people applying for 6 openings. That was 39 years ago this month A total of 7 people were eventually hired off of that list so around 200 applicants were rejected. Legally the test/list was valid for a year however they went through all applicants in about 4 months.

I was told by a sergeant in the hiring process and they approached it from the standpoint of, we know you’re not good enough to join us, we just have to find out what it is it will keep you out. Physical agility, background, reading comprehension, criminal record, falsifying information on the background information where we took a polygraph, physical and a psychological exam with a psychiatrist.

Before I retired in May 2021, we had about 15 openings and about 25 people showed up for the written test to start the process.

So went from hiring an average of 1 out of 30 applicants on average to not even having 30 people show up for the test. When I was hired we would have needed 350-500 apply in order to hire 15 cadets.

Basically if you are breathing and don’t have a criminal record, you have a good chance of being hired unless they find something absolutely terrible in your back. It went from we know you were not good enough to, how much do we think we can overlook to fill this position?

That is my experience in my agency. Looking at the shortage of police officers nationwide (and it is critical) I wouldn’t doubt if many or most departments are in the same situation.

I don’t think they seek out such people (although some especially larger agencies might be basically social programs), they simply have no choice.

Thats terrible news, since there is an increase these days in arrogance, narcissistic power hungry self esteem problems, and the sadistic, that means they are infiltrating the rest of the society forcing the hiring of even more flawed individuals.

Instead of throwing you in the back of the car on active railroad tracks without telling you why, soon they’ll go straight Judge Dredd with sanctioned instant judiciary powers.

Either way, a good chuckle at the end for them as recorded on many of this type videos. An inappropriate “chuckle” indicates either lack of empathy or a personality disorder.

could the train conductor not see the lights from far away and switch tracks or something? maybe he should have been checked for dwi...?

Sure, because all the conductor had to do was to turn the steering wheel or hit the brakes.
