If the Rs are proposing a "solution" just buckle up. Some forgiveness is going to happen

The comments here show a complete lack of depth understanding the student loan programs.
In the 90's the government took over all of the student loan programs and made a business of them. They offered below prime interest rates and forbearance on payments until graduation. In the early 2000's they capped the amount of money a student could borrow from the feds on an annual and lifetime basis, but reopened private lender capability. In 2007, the feds made it a requirement to receive any federal or state aid, a student must meet academic progress - quality and quantity - minimum 2.0 GPA and a 67% completion rate with a maximum number of hours of 150% of the degree requirements. If a degree requires 120 hours, the most federal aid will cover will be 180 hours. Unless the student files an appeal. High performing universities are very tight with appeals, low performing universities are very loose.
Considering the democrats are very close to passing a complete student loan forgiveness, the other side of the aisle had to come up with at least a plan to address the high default rates. The republican plan is meant to provide an option other than what the dems are proposing.

And, most college degrees are a scam. What takes four years should take 3 or less, community colleges should give their associates degree in 1 to 1 1/2 years. Most electives are just fillers, not needed. Streamline the degree plans and college will be more affordable.

Let’s take care of the veterans first. If the weak minded snow flakes want assistance with school tuition let them serve their country like veterans are doing and have done.
This tuition loan forgiveness is a kick in the balls to every veteran that has sacrificed for the country. One of the benefits of their sacrifice is that the government provides assistance via the GI Bill.
What have the snow flakes done to earn or deserve that same assistance with school tuition? 10 million + jobs open out there let them get a job or two and make the payments.
