    yeppers.

Did they ever figure out where he got the money for all the hardware?

    - According to the media- He shot his grandma in the face because she was getting onto him about a cell phone bill....so it wasn't like he had wads-o-cash available.

I been saying the same thing.
Our government sends billions of dollars to Ukraine for their personal kickbacks, but won’t supply gaurds for our children.
This new gun control will do absolutely nothing to help with this problem.
They are giving millions to the corrupt FBI to watch law abiding citizens but won’t put guards in our schools.
      Pure lunacy.

Cops rush in and accidentally shoot some kids in cross fire well you know the rest of that story. Not saying I agree with what happened or didn’t happen but it’s easy to Monday morning quarterback a terrible situation like this. I don’t want the job of police officers these days.
But waiting for the psychopath to kill them all is simply NOT EVER GOING TO BE AN ACCEPTABLE OPTION..
This was a total fail on every level..

It's a shame there wasn't one man there with enough backbone to stand up and say "Screw that......Let's Roll!!"

Am I crazy or is that gun full auto on the first barrage of gunfire. This kid was super inexperienced, had just bought those weapons but I find it hard to believe he could fire that fast with a semi auto.

It’s audio distortion from the echo in the building. The deputy going for hand sanitizer should be pushing a broom at a rest station the rest of his life if it were up to me.

                  I couldn't agree more!
I hope his family is proud of him. I don't care how good of an officer "they" say he is, or was previously, that video clip defines him now

So they may have followed procedures but they will live the rest of their lives with this blood on their hands.either way they and their families will be haunted. I choose the haunting of the media over the haunting of the lives I could have saved.

Complete LE failure, start to finish. You push to the threat in an active shooter situation, and you continue to push to the threat until there is no threat. Cowards, no other way to describe that hallway. Of course LE maintaining perimeter were real tough guys with parents. What a complete sh*t show, it's an absolute disgrace to LE.

I'd like to say I'm surprised with the lack of initiative, but LE is a microcosm of society, and there simply are not many pipe hitters around carrying a gun and badge today.

Lack of budget? Do dry runs, it's free. The reality is if you do CQB dry runs 4 hours a week, you'll be light years ahead of most departments and "tactical units". But dry runs aren't cool. Same with dry fire, top competitive shooters spend hours dry firing, over a thirty year period with three agencies, I worked with five guys who dry fired.

Hiring, you get what you pay for and what you train for. DPS troopers failed as miserably as Uvalde personnel. Working traffic enforcement on highways doesn't translate into room clearing.

Now, the Lt. Gov wants to spend millions of dollars on ballistic shields. You better better train with them a lot, very challenging to move and shoot with a shield. Add in moving with a partner(s) with a shield, not an easy task.

My heart breaks for those parents and kids in Uvalde.

Anyone in that hallway or associated with the LE response should suck on a barrel. Unfortunately, the Scot Peterson response to active school shootings seems to be the norm.

I've been trying like all hell to not voice an opinion, since that isn't my trade, but I think you just nailed it.

And I'd bet every one of those guys are "letter of the law" police on the street, instead of "spirit of the law."

The problem is that those in the "trade" seem to do a worse job than anyone else. Review the active shooter responses over the years, time and time again, everyday citizens take the initiative to engage the shooter, oftentimes unarmed, always putting themselves in harms' way without a gun, ballistic shield, chicken plate, tactical training or anything else. Just f**king common sense and the courage to do the right thing.

I really thought Scot Peterson's actions in Broward County were an aberration, but it's become the LE norm.

I thought the same thing. I couldn't believe he did that. I'm as pro cop as anyone but most of these guys need to find a new career. No way I'd allow that and I'm not even a cop. But I do have kids.
