Some of the things people from his own party are saying about him are crossing the line from professional to personal attacks. The White House included. It sure would be funny if Manchin came out with another press conference to announce that he was swapping parties since his current party affiliation has so little concern for him or his constituents.

I wish he would, that would give the R's the reins & a chance to appoint someone other than McConnell to Majority leader.

The Left loves their own, until they don't follow like lemmings, then they despise you!

I hope that he sticks to his guns and is not bought off.

A problem with federal law that will not change is that it allows a rider to be attached to a bill. There might be a bill in front of the United States Congress for the funds for a new Gerald Ford class aircraft carrier. But….. there is a rider attached for a $500,000 study in Massachusetts of how much food an English Sparrow eats a day and another $5,000,000 rider for rock salt and snow plows…. in Arizona.

Under their rules they can add anything to any bill in long as it gets approved. That is how they buy off their own members if they put up a fuss. Texas law does not allow for such riders. A person might not like a bill however it has nothing else attached.

I can guarantee that the Democratic leadership is meeting with Manchin and asking him what kind of deal they can add that will help WV and will get him to vote for the bill.

I just hope he has the guts to stick it out and draw a line in the sand and say enough is enough. If he does I will be thoroughly impressed.

It's called pork. And most federal bills/laws are full of it!

Yes, it is pork, a.k.a. legal bribery.

It would be too good of a thought, however…..

It has happened before, mostly at state, county and local levels but, a legislator can switch parties.

If the Democrats made Manchin mad enough, he could switch to a Republican and the Dems would lose their majority for the remainder of this legislative session. they could effectively stop anything on Biden‘s agenda.

It is just a wish but stranger things have happened.

He's still a politician. I trust him as much as Crenshaw.

Glad he seems to have made a good decision this time.

He is an old school democrat. They are a very rare breed, but still a few around.

The radical Dem elected officials seem to believe that their allegiance should be to the party, not their constituents that elected them to office. Joe Manchin is listening to those that elected him- a breath of fresh air for a Democrat.

Remember when McCain stuck It to Republicans/conservatives and voted for Obama care….

I wonder how much money the dems tried to bribe him with when he visited F J B. Glad he's got a pair.
