Actually it can kill you by drinking it too fast when dehydrated, very rare though

I believe we lost a well-liked TBH member from water poisoning a few years ago.

About 10 years ago I was drinking close to 2 gallons a day. Was driving home from work one day and felt drunk (no alcohol consumed). Bad electrolyte imbalance from all the water. It can happen and kills people every year.

Its not the water that is harmful. Its just it flushes out everything. As with everything else keep your body and organs balanced with hydration and fuel.

I think it was tuthdoc if I remember right and yes drinking several gallons of water a day isn't healthy.

Miket is right, he was in the Texas water safari when it happened.

I am not so sure on the water statement. From everything i have read we need an ounce of water per pound of weight. Now, i do not know if those is for pro atheletes, body builders, gym rats or just the average person. I do believe we have a dehydrated population of people. I am not sure what the right answer is on how much water and when. During the summer working outside we all drank more than a gallon.

You literally drown yourself. Happens in the Military often. Too much in too quick and not enough out.

College students have died from it via hazing...concho man admitted he had a tendency to drink too much water himself. I hear Having pickle juice on hand is a good idea if one does this.

What is the right amount is where I was going.

Manwit- You just have to keep your electrolytes within level. There is no magic number.
