Yessir - soft, and getting softer and quarreling about too many things amongst ourselves. Some petty, some stupid, some relevant but still not big enough to take our eyes off China.

That article harkens back to 1999 when Hong Kong reverted back to mainland China rule. The trend/projection/goal of the Chinese government then was to become the economic and military might of the world. They have a million man standing army today. Honestly, for me I doubt that matters much as future wars won't be hinging on foot troops but that is alot of targets. It was amazing to see first hand the massive scale of infrastructure projects happening all over the country. They have obviously stayed the course........... or should i say SERIOUSLY stayed the course focused on one goal..........#1 in the world in every facet! Right now at last count I believe the country has built 8 or 10 cities from the ground up that have more than 8 million residents. Wow, they aint messing around as the cities are supposedly world class in technology and amenities. It will be interesting to see what transpires over the next 10 years or so as the global economy continues to flex itself in some very non traditional corners of the world.

Very interesting, and the last two or three sentences beg the question I have asked for a while now. How the hell are they considered a 3rd world country and why are we sending them money as part of the Paris Climate Accord, not to mention other bad deals. Our leaders have sold out to them and / or are real life stooges.

As long as they keep the buffets well stocked I may get distracted.
