So I agree again on most everything you said. On the election front, we absolutely don't want federal control of elections - that would be devastating to Republicans. The challenge with this past election is that there is simply no evidence that it changed the outcome of the election. We can think they cheated. We can know they cheated. But we can't know it changed the outcome of the election. I've read a few of the court transcripts, including rulings by judges appointed by Republican presidents (I think a couple were actually appointed by Trump).



As for where that leaves us, think about this. How would you feel if you if were a pro-gun, pro free speech, anti-socialist Democrat sick of your own party's ethics? They are sick of the far left, cancel culture pro-socialism crazies. You'd be considering voting Republican - until you realized they've already declared you the enemy.



In order for Dems to win, they needed a record turnout of Black and Hispanic vote and (I think) 80+ and 70+ percent of their votes. If we just paid a little more attention to the actual challenges faced by both and addressed them - which would be the Christian thing to do - we would decrease the turnout while winning 25-35% of their vote and decimate the Dems. They couldn't cheat enough to make that up.



We can easily be better and beat the Dems. We just have to hold those who represent our political views to a higher standard of leadership and integrity than the other side. Both sides failure to do that is how we were left with a choice of Trump or Clinton in 2016 and Trump or Biden in 2020.

Agree but then why did a “record” number of Democrats vote for Biden after a year of defund, cancel culture and pro socialism acts? That’s what should be concerning in my opinion. I made this point in another thread that apparently the people in the middle are ok with that culture because they voted for Biden as well.

I guess my point is I don’t know how much worse the Democrat party could possibly get, especially after the display this the past 4 years, before people stop voting for them. Maybe a majority of our society likes that culture more or there was a lot of fraud that took place. If you have hope and faith in our country and people then how could you come to any other conclusion?

Well I’m here because I love hunting and family. This is the only site that I’m a member of. I’ve never done the Facebook thing or anything like that and I’m proud of it. I’ve meet some good people on here and have had conflicts with others but not many. If I’ve offended anybody I truly want to send my apologies to you and ask for your forgiveness. I truly believe we need to stand together and fight what we have and keep peace between us all. Thank you Michael for what you have done here and I hope one day to meet you.

I agree with a lot of that - at least up to your last points. Here is the way I see it.

We are a very diverse nation and only a small minority agrees with you 100%. In terms of what I believe, I'm sure only a small minority agrees with me 100% either. Who knows how many sub-groups (for lack of a better description) make up the Republican party. Same goes for Democratic party.

We will never win a civil war. No one will win a civil war. If we were engaged in a true civil war, our military would be involved and we would be defenseless from foreign threats. When it was over, we would be dead or in jail.

There are only 2 parties - Republican and Democrat - and they control the election laws sufficiently to thwart any 3rd party candidate.

So if we want to fight back, we have to win more votes. The demographics don't favor us either, so by win more votes, I mean expand our party and take away voters from the Democrats.

You have your theory. I have mine. I have no desire to declare you anything but a fellow Texas bowhunter whether you are a Republican or Democrat. I can't say the same for a whole lot of people on TBH who seem intent on running off anyone who doesn't see things exactly as they do.

Rational, sane and sound reasoning. Hate for those who have a different viewpoint is not the answer snd perpetuates the division in America.

As most of you know, I’ve never been a fan of political discussion (or religious debate) on this site. In the early days, we prohibited it completely. Eventually we started allowing it, with some strict guidelines, and ultimately created a separate forum, mostly to isolate it from the rest of the forums. Again, it was created with some specific guidelines.

Personally, I’m not a fan of political debates on social media, in general, but especially for this site. Politics are polarizing and stir deep emotions and more often than not create fractures within a group or organization, which can ultimately destroy said organization. I believed (and stated) this 21 years ago when we started TBH, and it’s even more polarizing today.

We have created, opened and closed the PACE forum many times. It’s a nightmare to moderate (“somebody else started it,” “if you’d just ban those troublemakers (the guys that we disagree with)”, “don’t read it if you don’t like it.”, etc.) and people frequently attribute something said on TBH as an opinion OF TBH.

That said, we have allowed it (PACE and political discussion) as a central place for our CONTRIBUTING members to discuss and share information at the same place where they discuss hunting, archery, family, etc. One of the primary rules we implemented to protect this is:

5. If more than 50% of your posts to the site are in the Politics/Current Events forum, it's likely you're not adding value to the site. If you don't add value to the site, there's no use for you to be here.

There are a LOT of people that are only here to argue and instigate with your political divisiveness, and have nothing else positive to offer the site. Most of you are blatantly obvious, so it’s not going to be a difficult place to start culling. If you are trying to log in and wondering why you’ve been removed, this is the likely reason.

A few others have been sucked in more recently. My advise to you would be to start working the numbers back in your favor (with sincere and legitimate posts).
