    Another covid thread....sorry

Anyone had to quarantine more than once?
I tested positive at around the first week of Dec. never felt real bad and spent quite a bit of time at the lease. Then spent 14 days on vacation and went back to work a couple days ago. One of my crew members ( fire department) felt bad as we were getting off work. Tested positive today and now I’m quarantine again.....even though I just had it. They told me 3 weeks ago I’d likely test positive for up to 6-8 months so I’m guess I’ll test positive in a couple days when I test again.
I guess I’ll spend more time in the woods

kids have done 2 rounds of quarantine. one exposure at school and another outside of school. we fully expected a 3rd when another kid's mom got covid, but somehow her kids (same class as mine) never got got a positive test

I was told by the hospital that gave me the test a month ago that I would probably test positive for many months but I could return to work after 10 days with no symptoms.
That being the case I might not work more than a few weeks this year
If someone around me ( patient or crew member) test positive again I’ll be tested again and again be sitting at home. The only problem I have with all this mandatory time off is I’m not making overtime money........bad I love OT money

Just had a guy with no sense of taste or smell. They decided to quarantine him for 24 hours, and see if it gets worse. 30 friggin minutes later, he's barfin, and has the runs along with a 103° fever. Medivac time. Now the entire rig is under quarantine AGAIN.

So if you just had it did they tell you you could get it again?? Would you be a carrier by being exposed after your body just fought it off??

Hospital said I’d test positive for many months, not that I’d get it again.
I asked if I needed a negative test to go back to work and they said if that was the criteria I’d be off up to a year and that eventually no one would be at the fire station.
So apparently you can test positive and still work in first responder role and a hospital

Not according to CDC guidelines. My whole family got it in December so we became pretty familiar with the isolation and quarantine issues. If you go by CDC guidelines once you’ve tested positive then your marker for your contagious period is your day one of symptoms. They recommend 14 days from that day but allow for 10 days from that day as long as your symptoms are improving and you no longer have fever, and also with the exception of loss of taste and smell because those can last much longer. They even say in their guidelines that they don’t recommend retesting as you will likely test positive for some time even though you are no longer contagious. I think a lot of confusion comes from not considering that someone who has already recently had it is no longer contagious even if there has been exposure.

MY 80+ year old Mother in law had it few weeks back. Nursing home resident, list of ailments long as your arm, even severe COPD.

She's fine now after the triple whammy HCQ cocktail.
