    Covid Testing: Why bother?

Serious question: why bother getting tested for Covid if all they’re going to do is tell you to go home and treat it like the flu?

I’ve seen better advice than that here and on other social media so what is the benefit of a positive result? I would think any otherwise healthy person getting sick now, depending on their symptoms, would assume it’s covid and act accordingly

So the left can tell you how many covid cases are Trump's fault when November rolls around.

Epidemics are fought with data and contact tracing. If you get tested and are positive, contact tracers can potentially prevent your contacts from infecting and killing others. So do you want to help stop C19 or accidentally cause someone else's death twice removed?

Because it's the "in" thing to do.

The more I see online and hear from people I know the more I know the numbers are complete BS.

Partial BS, under-reported but if consistently under-reported, then useful.

what is your angle? you dodged repeated questions on your initial post and have lost all credibility. In my opinion, you are just a troll. trying to stir up crap....go away.

So my choices are government intrusion or I’m responsible for killing people. That seems a little dramatic, I’ll take door #3.

This isn’t an epidemic it’s a pandemic, contact tracing is BS at this point. You have lost control

Yep. Despite what our new friend seems to think.

So the govt can put an ankle bracket on you if you test positive and take control of your life and treat you like a pariah

Have we actually determined if the dang test are accurate or not? I hear all the time they are anywhere from 50-80% accurate. If that’s the case how is the hell can any number be accurate?

At this point it doesn’t qualify as a pandemic even if the media keeps calling it that

Between the accuracy of the test and the BS ways the results are being reported it’s a waste of time.

And I know personally of one guy and heard of others that went to get tested but had to leave before the test was done yet still got a call with a positive test result....

I’m just wondering if a “ data scientist “ uses all the numbers or uses 80%or 90% since it’s a known fact that the test are not 100% accurate. Do they also take into account that many people have been tested more than once.
Also, do hospitals, medical examiner’s or anyone else have a vested interest in positive over negative results?
