Do we ever get back to the old normal??

I am curious your guys thoughts?? I have noticed here in Parker county other than no dine in Restaurants and a few other businesses still being closed, we seem to kinda be getting back to a semi normal. Traffic on the highway.. Crap ton of people at the stores that are open and everyone seems to be in a pretty good way..

However I was listening to a Vegas Podcast and it feels much different.. And I think you could lump most big cities into this as well.. But basically Wynn says when they open they will be taking everyones temp when entering property. They will be doing screenings asking where you traveled from.. If your temp is over 100 they will notify CDC and other Government groups as well as denying you access to the property. Then if you do not have a vehicle they will call an ambulance to take you to a medical facility??

Also have heard rumors of limiting table games to 3 people, shutting down every other slot machine and plexiglass "Stalls" on the bars to keep people apart as well as not in direct contact with the bartender?

Its gonna be a weird next 12-16 months in this country as people try to get back to normal..

It will not be back to normal in the next 3 months for sure but in the next 9 to 12 months we will have a better understanding of what will be the new norm.

I don’t foresee temp checks, gloves and masks being the new norm. I do think people will be more cognizant on washing their hands and using sanitizer more than ever before.

I think once the real numbers come out on how many folks actually had the virus with out symptoms it will change things. Will we ever get back to normal? Probably not.

Had this happened a decade back I would say we will buckle down and be better for it in the near future. I am not so sure anymore. Lots of people have grown too dependent on the government to provide everything for them. This "pandemic" has shown that lots of peeps are willing to sacrifice their rights too easily. Which again leads to dependence on the folks in Washington. Sad & scary but it's where we are as a nation at this time IMHO.

What’s great is the millennials that catch so much crap couldn’t care less about this virus.

I hope we learn more about how to better handle these kind of situations. In my opinion this has shown the world how weak and unprepared we are. Not the image we've always portrayed.

I say everyone needs to get back to work and let this thing run it's course. Kids are out of school running around, people aren't social distancing or any of that. Just wearing masks and using hand sanitizer more often. That and people are out of a job. That's the only thing that has changed. More and more people are getting sick every day. People going broke and businesses shutting down is only making the situation worse. People are going to die regardless. Open things back up and let's move on. You can't do the same thing repeatedly and expect a different result. That's not how you move forward. That's how you get stuck in one spot.

Are people are the grocery store with plexiglass in front of their face and wearing gloves taking the pair off they used to pick up what you sat on the counter and putting a new pair on every time they're done helping a customer? Are kids out of school staying inside where they're supposed to be? No......nobody is doing anything different they just feel safer because they think they are. We're spinning our wheels with this one.

Even the people that seem to care aren't helping anyone near as much as they believe they are.

I was hoping it would be a quick turnaround but now not so much. I think that once we get an actual vaccine that’ll change things significantly.

Bring back pre virus TBH. I’m so tired of all the conspiracy theories, political rants, doom and gloom that is posted on here.

I definitely know who I would not want to be on a lease with after all the virus threads.

It's supposed to hit 98 degrees on Wednesday here. I forsee a whole lot more masks laying on the ground.

Yep. Honestly I think a lot of people around here are realizing its been way overhyped. Getting more and more like normal here excluding the govt mandated shutdowns. The only problem we have now is govt caused.

These guys make more sense than those communists Dr Fauci and the Scarf Queen. I listened to all 51 minutes. (I’ve heard there’s a part 2 also).

Putting masks on makes me flash 30 years back to cleaning out the inside of grain bins when it was 100 degrees out and lord knows how hot inside the bin and so dusty you couldn’t hardly breathe even with the mask on. When you stepped out of the bin into 100 degrees it felt like stepping into a walk in cooler!

Now I have to wear one 10 hours a day but I am inside the AC and they drive me crazy!
