Thoughts on the Navy Carrier Captain getting relieved

I don’t what to think of this... not sure if there is some stuff we don’t know about but then again now we look weak in front of our enemies.... what do y’all think?

If he didnt go thru proper channels, which is what the Brass said, he should have been reprimanded. Relief of duty is extreme imho.

Navy has zero tolerance for ship captains messing up. Chain of command only, no deviation. Don't announce that a US warship may not be combat ready or compromised. He had to go..

I don’t like anyone who gives that much time to this country being dismissed unless it’s a really big deal or criminal.

A little bit of lip service is detrimental to the any of the armed forces. Anyone ever heard of loose lips sink ships? Look up where that came from.

His intentions may have been good but he made his leadership look bad by going over their heads.

He should have followed the chain of command , but a simple reprimand in his jacket would suffice, his career should not be in question or jeopardy

I thought this is the issue, which is understandable.

As long as he’s been in the Navy he had to know what the consequences would be. He apparently thought it would be worth the cost

Jumping chain of command in any branch of military will get you in mucho biggo trouble. I feel for him as all he wanted was his dumbazz higher ups to help his men but regulations are regulations.

He effectively did more than a chinese torpedo.

He should be sentenced to death. Most young fighters will not be effected by this enough to jeopardize the battle group’s capabilities.

Even a reprimand at that level is pretty much career ending. You have to be perfect at that level. Sucks...but it is what it is.

                              Do you really believe that?
