She took a LOA She's been hospitalized in the past..Doesn't want to risk it.

If the stores were packed open to close I'd understand shelves running low. But it was stupid empty. No flour, sugar, bread, ice cream, popcorn, canned soup, etc...

I just haven't seen enough people in the store buying that much..That's what I can't figure out. It's literally a lot busier around the holidays with all check outs open than it is now... And of the 10 check stands about 5 had cashiers standing there waiting for someone to check out.

I guess we shall see if they get caught up soon. If it's still not busy with shoppers in a week and shelves are still empty then something else is going on.

They did have a whole pallet of chili with beans LOL

You need to get off social media, news, radio and go get some fresh air. Turn it all off for 24hrs. It'll do you some good...

It takes time to recover from the past few weeks. Not just HEB but our suppliers are strapped as well. Almost every manufacture is on what we call 'allocation'. They can't keep up with production for every retailer. Many have stopped producing 2nd tier items in order to focus on the key needs. It's getting better every day though.

I work for HEB at corporate. And I buy a very 'in demand' covid category. I don't buy TP but it's no different for any of the key categories. We are working dang near around the clock to get back into good shape. But our store Partners...those are the true warriors in this. Please be patient with them.

This is what I'm hoping. Thanks for posting.

I just wouldn't have thought HEB would run out of their own products..when the stores are not that busy.

That's why I posted earlier I'm hoping things are back to normal by the end of next week. I promise the store near me is doing less in revenue per day now than normal...So they should get caught up pretty quick.

Chickens don't stop laying and people's fridges can only hold so many eggs.

I just got back from HEB. The store looked to be much more stocked than it was on my last visit 1.5 weeks ago. Still no hand sanitizer. They had removed the limit they had on chicken products as well. Just my observations. Oh and the ice cream shelves appeared to be fully stocked. That hadnt been the case for the weeks proceeding today.

HEB's "own products", aka Private Label, aren't made by them. They are made by someone else. We make their water that is labeled as HEB, as well as CVS, Walmart, Walgreens and others. One of the problems right now with getting restocked is trucks. The trucking companies are swamped trying to fill the demand and raising their rates across the board to pretty much all of their customers. Yes, I know HEB has their own fleet, but even they are stretched thin. Another problems is rationing, or quotas. We had to ration all of our customers on bottled water because everyone was wanting up to double their normal forecast, and we don't have that kind of capacity. Been seeing that with other products too. And of course all of that was caused by the initial "hoarding rush".

I went to HEB yesterday for the first time since this all this started and it was awful. They didn't have about 1/3 of the things on my list. No TP / paper towels of course but also out of my usual sodas, canned goods, bath soap and laundry detergent. They did have plenty of meat, eggs, water and milk.
I've been cooking at home a whole lot more so was trying to buy baking items like flour and bread crumbs...nada.
As soon as I got back to the truck I went to amazon and walmart.com to see if I could buy those things there and they were either sold out or the prices were jacked beyond belief (like $41 for a 20 ounce can of Progresso bread crumbs.)

                      H-E-B and Walmart no luck

Our H-E-B is basically out of stuff , wife ordered TP and paper goods zero luck
If we order stuff like soup we don’t get type we ordered it’s mainly substitutes
                      Like clam chowder or tomato
Spam is out , we did get some tuna fish packs
Fresh meat is spotty ( order a pot roast and receive hamburger as a substitute)

On toilet paper I found a online source but it’s limited to 24 rolls every 60 days per 3 person household @$1 per roll includes delivery

Partially true. We manufacture quite a bit of our own brand products. The rest is sourced out.

Sika, sorry you and everyone else is dealing with this. Have you tried our 'Curbside' app? It may be a few days before you could get on the schedule, but typically you have a better shot at getting the key essentials going this route (not guaranteed though). This is assuming the store you shop at, has a Curbside dept.

                            Thats good.

After reading some posts here I'm feeling confident the shelves will be back to normal in a week or two.

Glad I've been rationing my rocky road ice cream though LOL

They seem to be closer to normal now. Still people fear buying or I think defensively buying, but not to the same extent.

I just got back from my Grocery run. "most" items are back to normal. Milk, eggs, cleaning and paper products were either out of or low inventory. They did place a limit on the amount of items you could purchase.
