I'm on Medicare and have never had that problem. My doctors check whatever issues I have.

If I had made millions, I would pay the doctor out of my pocket to take care of my mother if I had to!

Yes Glen - another layer that spreads faster and kills quicker than the Flu. It's 2.2 times more stronger than the Flu. It's a FLU ON STEROIDS with no historical immunity and or treatment system in place, for the volume for those infected.

We doubled in 24 hours - American cases. NYC has 5% of the World's total Covid19 outbreak this hour. By the end of the week, it's gonna have more than NYC can handle.

Even testing for this virus - we are seeing an increase in cases with a limited supply of TEST KITS to identify and sort false positives.

Some have stated we could potentially see upwards of 2 million die world-wide, before this crap is under control.

Not a good number....hope they are wrong.

Press stating that it doesn't kill young people, 2-3 weeks ago...during Spring Break. Now we have 25-30% of our hospitals consumed by infected younger people here in the USA. Kids are starting to die.......because of BAD NEWS! And these younger vectors, mixed with their normal lifestyles......spreading this stuff beyond containment and identity tracking for follow-up.

China has a locked down society. They contained it because it's a GOVERNMENT CONTROLLED ENVIRONMENT there. Most can't travel more than a few miles from home due to the lack of infrastructure and or mobility, monies to travel.

Here in the USA, the spread potential is tremendous.

Look at Europe - open borders - spreading like wildfires there now as well.

Am I right to assume or guess 30% (guess) maybe more of surgeries are elective and not life threatening?

Where are all the Boob job, moles, warts, hair transplant, tummy tuck, sex change, and weight loss docs at?

Doubt your seeing many plastic surgeons busy today..

None of those are the type of physicians that I want managing my critical respiratory illness. Not all docs are created equal. Unfortunately that’s what is going to happen though.

Yes it will be. As well as the child abuse cases and domestic violence cases will rise as well.

Thanks for posting that Rob. I don't think it is sinking thru that the virulent aspect of this dang bug has the potential to make all those non-associated numbers look like child's play. I hope it looks like a wet noodle in a week or two but epidemiologist have to play the long game. I am also worried about our national economy but I understand the BIG picture if this beast expands at the rates it has shown in only 1 week.

                  Don't let emotions overtake yourself.

There is a price on life. It's a math formula. Google it.

Basically for every 200k (WAG as I don't know the current number) spent fighting CV one person will die from all other random things that money could have been spent on and saved them from. Yes, you would need to calculate if not spending a dime would mean CV would kill a lot more people.

But 2 Trillion is a lot of lives/money. No way CV would kill that many if left unchecked.

HIPPA guidelines is beyond names of patients? Or was it always headcount also?

Houston we have a Problem and folks need to get their heads out of their ARSE and stay put till it passes. Living like it's not happening isn't the answer. It's here......20 thousand yesterday over 40 thousand infected today.

                        IT IS THE F HERE!
That does NOT mean more people are being infected each day. It simply means they are finally getting out crap tons of test kits.

They were only testing a stupid small number a few weeks ago (like less than 100) It just recently really ramped up to hundreds of thousands of tests.

Of those 20k that tested positive over the last 24 hours you would need to know how long they've had it. It's not like they got it yesterday. And who's to say this didn't sweep through the US 3 months ago? There were thousands of people with the Flu that tested negative for the Flu in Dec/Jan/Feb

All this talk about staffing. My wife is an RN and is burning through her PTO because they keep sending her home due to low census (no work).

They are constructing make shift medical facilities as we speak on football fields...should your comment not also pertain and if so, why build them other than a money grab?? Seems an empty hotel with ac & rooms already built might be easier but what do I know, I'm a sales & gun guy.

I'm sure it's going on elsewhere but abbott announced they are taking back nurses with suspended lic, forgetting the graduation / those waiting for new lic & what not. My wife is a stay at home but also has her LVN & looking to see what she can do, so I know of at least one.

It’s projected that sooner or later most Americans will get coronavirus. The shut down is to avoid what is happening in Italy. The limiting factor is the availability of ventilators. Without ventilators the death rate will skyrocket, especially among the elderly and those in poor health. There are only so many ventilators and if the number of people infected needing ventilators exceeds the number of ventilators, that equates to a bad outcome, especially for politicians. Isolation, quarantine, social space, limits the number sick at any one time so the lack of ventilators doesn’t result in excessive deaths. People are going to die but if the rate of infection can be controlled then no one has to die due to a lack of a ventilator. This is not ending anytime soon. The point is to keep the number of new cases under control, spread it out over time so the number of ventilators isn’t overwhelmed. I wonder, if it’s inevitable to get the coronavirus, better now while ventilators are available rather than risk the alternative if the system is overwhelmed.
