so by saying you aren’t getting a dime on a public forum it’s kind of like bragging on your income without really bragging I don’t like the idea of government handouts and this is no different. Ultimately the govt is handing out money they don’t really have. For those of you making over $199k as a household congrats, you have done well and should be just fine without the free money.

They have to go off 2018 because 2019 taxes aren't due yet so some or most people haven't filed for 2019.

What about Unemployment, (the existing program that already comes out of your check)? Shouldn't that be drained before more "stimulus" & debt is put on the backs of the taxpayers?

Is this a one time payment? Is it taxed? Hasn't this $$ already taxed once, in order for the government to get their hands on it? Well it be deducted from future tax returns?

Well this sucks. We get nothing but now I’ll have to pay more taxes to fund all the free money other people are getting. What if you’re over the $200k cutoff but you have kids, does the $500 per kid get phased out too or do we still get that money?

What about retires people that “made” money in the stock market in 2019 but lost 5x that in 2020?

It’s socialism pure and simple. Take from those that work and earn and give to those who don’t

I want to know about the $500 to the kids as well. I’m thinking they owe me.

Closer than we are, you definitely aren't barely getting by either. I think it should somehow go to people lost work from Corona, not a certain pay range. If it goes through, I still get some money. But, I haven't been impacted from Corona yet.

After seeing how much some of y’all make... I haven’t worked in the last few months luckily I’ll be starting again soon. I hate getting a handout like this but it’s at a good time, I just wish the circumstances were different. It will certainly help me catch up on some bills.
