I don’t understand this line of thinking. A virus is not like normal death causes. I know for a fact that my mother won’t die from all of those things you listed in the next 30 days other than an motor vehicle crash. The others you mentioned are not going to kill her within a month. Corona could. I’m cautioning her to be vigilant, especially considering the numbers coming out of Italy. Too many people are being flippant about this, and it’s disturbing. Honk Kong and South Korea put the fear of god into their people, made them take this serious, and their death rates are low right now. We are laughing about it and it could be a very rude awakening when this is over.

One problem with that site is that most of those other listed viruses are only contagious when symptoms are present. That’s not the case for this one. You can be contagious for up to a week before anything is noticeable. Which is why they are canceling things that involve large groups.

People are getting in fights over hand sanitizer and TP while simultaneously living sedentary lives, smoking, eating unhealthy food, etc. It's comical. Too many people have fears that don't align with reality.

By all means, appropriate actions should be taken, especially if your health is already compromised. Vigilance is good. Just don't lose your mind over a risk that is minimal compared to other risks you face on a daily basis.
