Exactly. Their culture doesn't tolerate it and Therefore the punishments are much more severe. What are the odds we could, as a nation, agree to levy stiffer punishments on thieves? Politics/Legislation is down stream of culture.

At least 19 people were killed and 26 injured in a stabbing spree at a facility for disabled people west of Tokyo.

This was in 2016. Nut job targeted the disabled, seems like they always target those that are unlikely to fight back.

But, if the teachers were armed would they have had a better or worse chance of stopping something like this?

There were armed folks on campus already.

Who's to say the armed teacher might not have shot the gunman and two kids while the gunman only shot 12 kids?

More guns in schools are not the answer
