Follow the money.....insurance companies probably donating big to campaigns in Austin and maybe more than the attorneys have been in the past.....IF in fact it was to get rid of frivolous lawsuits I'm ok with it but do I think that's all it will help, no. We all know insurance companies love taking in premiums but hate paying out.....WC is perfect example, I was considered totally disabled at work, FD, not allowed to come back to work and a rating of 0%....called attorney and first thing they ask is if employer had WC and if yes they weren't interested the companies, city, are protected by WC they only want to go after employers without WC. This is state law and probably same will happen with this law. I just went ahead and retired, they offered me 40 hr job but long drive even for 4 10's so not mad at my work. They were going to pencil whip some "training" to bring me back since 40 hr has to be OP's qualified, in theory on paper to satisfy city on OT being so high....again so not mad at my work but the WC laws protect employers and we all know how well WC works, or doesn't......

Maybe I'd be ok with it if they capped premiums while they were at it.
