Its a nuanced spiral…alot more to in than just trying to establish a hierarchy of what drug caused it.

booze is top of the list due to availability.

As weed becomes more available it rises to top with legal booze

Thinking about alcohol prohibition and the harm caused by criminal organizations bankrolled by it, unscrupulous distillers and sellers, it would reason that legalization and sensible oversight could have some positive outcomes regarding the subject.
The D8 stuff smells and tastes like chemicals/plastic in my opinion and the effects are unpredictable. Liken it to pouring a drink knowing you’ll get an affect, but no idea if it’s going to put you on the floor, or just make you smiley for and hour.
it’s been legal a few years in Arizona, and we’ll stop in and buy a seltzer or gummies to enjoy in lieu of alcohol when sitting by the pool, or enjoying a fire on vacation. There are some rough looking people in the pot-weed shop, but overall, it’s retired people looking for sleep help and pain relief.
No absolutes, or easy answers on any of this.
In the end, having dropped a couple of seeds (found online and shipped to my door) in the garden, I see how easily a hobby vegetable gardener can grow a couple giant plants of great quality. Seeing those plant grow and make the infamous pot-weed, right in my garden, makes the whole thing seem overblown and ridiculous. Imagine if grape vines were outlawed and grape wine was federally illegal, but we could legally make blueberry wines which had a naturally lower alcohol content. Then, we distilled it, and packaged it with liquor levels of alcohol, and sold it as wine. That’s my opinion of what’s coming from the Delta 8
      stuff.
