New Texas senate bill looks to ban all THC, hemp products

When will Texas come out of the 1950's, or the Feds finally give it up? I'll admit I lean super libertarian on all this kind of stuff, but I don't see how anyone is against just legalizing marijuana anymore. Let's not just site the Blue sates demise which had way more to do with political climate than the legalization of marijuana. Correlation without causation doesn't count. Laws can still try to protect folks from themselves on hard drugs, but this is no different than alcohol except it has done less damage. FWIW, no I don't partake in THC as I get randomly drug tested.

Agreed, if they legalize it at least it would be taxed like my beer is😬. I’ve never touched it but would consider it if I needed to for medical reasons.

Ok before we go off half cocked, what is the status of the bill? Was it just introduced? Is it even out of committee? Has it been voted on?

ALOT of stupid bills get introduced every legislative session, most from liberals, but some from the ultra conservative. Most never make it to the congressional floor, and even fewer pass the vote

HB3 is pointed to hemp shops that have exploited a loophole in the farm bill act. These shops are selling unregulated products to all ages. Go to your local highschool and ask the teachers what bathrooms smell like. Products that exceed 0.3% limit for hemp products by 3-10x.

HB3 would limit hemp shops to CBD and CBG products only. No THC. THC products would be produced by facilities that have regulations and quality control systems in place and have oversight by DPS.

Texas currently has 3 issued licenses for TCUP (Texas Compassionate Use Act. These facilities are vertically integrated and produce medicinal MJ. Although they are currently limited to consumable products only, no smokeable.

However, my wife’s best friends, husband, is currently in a mental health place due to the delta 8/9 stuff. She didn’t know he was doing it. He started losing his marbles a few months ago. They are saying it’s due to over usage of the stuff. Pretty wild. So now I’m not sure. I didn’t know how dangerous the stuff could be

He didn't lose his marbles because of delta 8/9 if he lost his marbles there's already some mental health problems there.

Personally I think pot is better for you than the delta 8 bs. Legalize it already and move on.

I don’t know the dude real well. But reading up on it, I can see it. And the docs at the facility said they’ve seen it quite a bit. The synthetic stuff must be dangerous. Idk. Not my thing.
