First off SS is not just money that is sent to you. That is not what this is about. Yes they take your money and use it for other stuff then if you are lucky enough to retire you will get some of what you put in back. Will it be there when when I get there. That is above my pay grade to figure out. I have a long way before that comes around.

But there are benefits that go along with SS.

My main point is that everything is driven off data and data collection. If the data is wrong then the decisions based upon the data is wrong. So we have a massive company within a company that controls a massive amount of money and they have bad data. This is not a Trump/Elon issue. This is not a Republican/Democrat issue.

This is a systemic failure within the government and you can not tell me that NO ONE knew this. They have all failed up to this point. Someone at some point will have to make the call to clean it up and it will be to the end of their career without it you will see the fall of everything we know. Maybe not in my lifetime but there will be a fall.

The reason why you're seeing so much waste, fraud and abuse is because no one in government cares. You're looking at apathy. Why Han't the GAO, Inspectors General, Auditors etc find any of this? The stuff DOGE is finding is basic stuff. The reason why the existing people did not find this is they were never held to be accountable.

This is a combination of not being able to fire civil service employees. If we applied DOGE to all of our local governments - we will find the same thing. Also since it's sloppy, it is easier to hide fraud.

Do your research before posting something. You say these people are receiving checks, what do you base that on?

You ask why these entities haven’t found any of this and then provide a listing from Social Security that revolves around an issue identified in an Inspector General audit report. Go read that report and you’ll discover than nearly none of these people received a payment.

Have you done one bit of research into GAO, IG or auditor findings? I doubt it. You can go to their websites and find many audit reports over the years with all kinds of findings. And these publicly available audit reports don’t even begin to touch the audit reports the general public can’t access.

Nearly everything “discovered” thus far is stuff that was identified by government auditors over the years and just being held up by DOGE as their own work. Those soap dispensers and coffee mugs they keep talking about? Yeah, these discoveries were right out of an audit report, written by a real auditor.

I read on another site there is a theory being worked on that the code used for SS has a default to birth year 1875 if certain info is missing. That idea seems to not be fully fleshed out though.

Also read there is an automatic trigger in the system to investigate someone when they hit 115 years old. This is to keep people from using a dead persons info to fraudulently receive their benefits.

Again. Bad DATA and no one cleaning it up. Its one thing the know there is issues. We can write reports and have meetings all day long. But what are the action items. Who is going to own them and when are they going to be done. Charles Koch had a great tool RRE. Roles Responsibility and Expectations. If you can not define everyone's RRE before a meeting or on the out come of that meeting then the meeting is worthless and nothing will get done. If you can clearly define the RRE for everyone in the meeting then you will have a successful meeting.

They sit around and debate and vote on stuff. Generate reports till they are blue in the face but there is no one taking ownership of fixing the problem. It is not just in SS but in all over the government.

I am tired of telling me about the problems without the solution. Tell me what you did once you found the issue and what you did to fix it. If you can not fix it then tell me what needs to be done to fix it. Then its my issue to go and find those that can take care of it.

But all we hear now days is this is problem, that is a problem, look at what we spent on this or that. There is so much noise and no actionable and attainable goals.

Show me where you cut and show me where that money is now going.
