DOGE is simply a committee appointed by the president to do a task. The president has to declassify any information that is granted to the committee for review. The committee then makes suggestions to the president. I don't see the problem. Elon is not firing anyone, nor does he have the power to do so. The media is contorting the news to make it look that way.

These talking points are comical at this point

DOGE will be one of the tools used by the Establishment to protect itself by challenging it fiercely. The criminal empire is being exposed and they will pull all the cards to stop it. Pull up a seat and watch, slowly we'll see a bipartisan shift in protecting the establishment by challenging DOGE. The whole system is corrupt by design. It's sad and frustrating and I hope President Trump can expose enough to make lasting changes but I am just not sure as I dont trust 90% of elected officials. I hope I am wrong, pray daily I am.

I’m seeing the Democrats screaming about Doge and the tariffs, where is the republican leadership supporting Trump? Are they out here and just not making the news? Seems none of them want to get out of step but once again don’t seem to understand they don’t have a majority in both houses because of their stellar leadership.

I share the concerns that what is going on may not be constitutional, but for a different reason.
I don't think the issue is with him appointing Elon without senate confirmation. There are a lot of positions appointed by the president that do not require confirmation. For example, the White House Chief of Staff requires no confirmation, and I guarantee you that position sees a lot of sensitive information. Elon and DOGE are simply acting as advisors to the President.
My concern on the constitutional issue is this: if a lot of the programs that he is wiping out were created by congressional action, they can only be undone by congressional action. That is the separation of powers principle that was mentioned above.
I want the government slimmed down as much as anyone. I have been saying for 30 years that the Department of Education should be eliminated. But I don't want to create further precedent for presidents to use executive orders to create or undo actions or departments that should be done through the normal process of congressional action and presidential approval.
Hopefully, he is working with congress in the background to pass the legislation necessary to ratify everything he is doing.

Even change/eliminate the methods used to create them in the first place.
