    Politicians getting rich?

So will there be anything Trump can do that will stick that forces politicians to disclose or be subject to an audit when they make millions more than their salary?

I'm not saying they should be subject to a detailed fine tooth comb by IRS for making money, but geez they should at least have a semi-plausible answer to how they turn $175k into 30 million over 4 years.

Not Trumps job in my opinion.

He only has four short years to right the ship and I just don’t think that’s an Issue that is pressing.

until voters figure out a way to primary people out of office that will never change…buncha lying crooks!

I 100% agree. No one can convince me that they all aren't up to their eye balls in insider stock trading. My main example would be Pelosi's husband, somehow he always knows when to buy or sell stocks.

Yep, and its not just insider trading. There's a lot of money laundering operations politicians use. In my opinion it isnt Trumps job to stop it, he oughtta shine a big ol light on it though. The people of this country should be the ones putting a stop to it.

It's far more than insider trading IMO. Flat out bribes, kick backs, and money laundering.

So who's job is it? Trump, as POTUS should demand they do their job.

Yep, it's not just stock trades. It's government pork spending to make big donors wealthy, and they turn a chunk of it around through lobbyists back to the politicians. It's crooked as all get out. I don't know what the fix is. Term limits would help some. Capping donations from lobbyists to $2,500 or something similar would solve most of it, but the courts have said that political contributions are protected as free speech, so....

The fastest way to make it illegal if for Trump to come out and say he's going to do the exact thing they do and get richer.

Its not HIS job to expose and stop it, but he can surely tap someone else on the shoulder to do it.

I look at it like drug addicts, you can pass all the anti drug laws you want, criminals dont follow the law. Politicians are laundering money 30 different ways, you make another law, they'll just go around it. Term limits would be an amazing start, but I fear what some of these people would try to set in motion if they knew they only had 1 term.

If they are all corrupt then is there really any way he could fix it? They certainly aren't going to vote for rules that keep the money out of their pockets. If he exposes it then they stop voting for the things he wants to fix for the American people. So, if they are all corrupt it will not get fixed, I hope that enough are not corrupt so something can be done and still get his agenda passed.

The best thing to do is put on the ballot for CITIZENS to vote on term limits and no retirement pay after they leave congress. Politicians should have to go back to work in the economy they vote for.

Bad thing is congress will never allow citizens to vote on this

yup. Just imagine the bribery that goes on to get a politicians vote or backing!

here’s a suitcase… here’s an offshore account… here’s a corporation we have all set up for you. It’s endless I’m sure, and crafted by some of the world’s most elite minds.

If it’s being offered up … and a politician can justify in their own minds that “hey why not? I was going to vote that way anyways. A little bit for me .. I deserve it”.

                            human nature takes over.

Watch the movie "The Distinguished Gentleman" with Eddie Murphy, sums it up perfectly.....small time petty criminal gets elected to congress due to his name being exact same as long term guy that dies........in the movie he says "I just thought I was a thief till I got here"......it's actually a good movie for civics classes, if such a real thing exists
