There is evil in this world that will prey on our children at every opportunity and sometimes the cost is more than any of us can bear. I absolutely believe that she would be here today had she not left her room. In no way am I or anyone else on this thread suggesting she deserved it, earned it, or caused it because she left her room. You think her own mother, given a second chance, would not want to speak to her about the importance of not sneaking out of the house at night because of the dangers in this world? We should be talking to our children about the importance of being "good little children" to possibly avoid these dangers. Unfortunately, even then, bad things will happen because, well, it's what evil does. It's not our children's fault and they do not earn or deserve the evil that is there waiting for the opportunity, however, there are ways they can reduce the opportunities of these evil people.
And, once again, the perpetrators were 100% responsible, accountable, and guilty of this horrible, senseless, and dispicable crime, not the child. Hopefully you can understand that and stop finger pointing at good people who mean no ill intent.

Was at the funeral today. There was a huge media and police presence there. The victims dad is currently incarcerated in TDCJ and the Warden allowed him to attend the service while under guard.
