A few of you are actually pretty close. We were surprised to find out that he only weighed 127 field dressed. The processor said that hog typically with weigh about 35% more on the hoof so his live weight should be somewhere around 170-175. The other thing I forgot to ask was if you guys were guessing live weight or field dressed.

The good new is that this thread finally pushed my dad over the edge and he registered as Milo. The bad news is that he logged out and is now getting an invalid password message when he tries to log in.

99% of people that dont have much experience with actually putting a hog on a scale will go over most of the time quite a bit. Most people on here are learning that now and guesses are getting better. A year ago you would have had several people say 300 plus I would bet

I would have guessed a live weight of around 275 and field dressed 240-250. He looks as big as the one I harvested last year and he tipped the scale at 261.
