I have a family full of lurkers. My wife lurks, my brother lurks, my father lurks and even my sister and checks in every once in a while. In an attempt to force my dad to become a contributing, registered member, I've been holding off on posting his story. I didn't work and he just looks at me with those puppy dog eyes every morning asking if I've started any new threads on TexasBowhunter yet. Well, here goes. My dad, Emilio, has been shooting a Barnett RC-150 crossbow for several years due to a shoulder injury he sustained during a heart attack about fifteen years ago. He had been sitting in a ground blind we had set up near a dry creek where I killed a decent 8 pointer last year. We have several spots set up but he sticks to this spot because a big pig would come in almost every time he sits there, but the pig never stays long enough to give him a shot.

I guess this is why the pig has been able to get as big as he is. Or should I say was? After several attempts, the pig finally made the mistake of staying under the feeder to long and my dad was able to take advantage of his mistake. The pig was always smart enough to face the ground blind head on and take a few kernels of corn and then go back into the brush only to re-appear for a few more kernels and then go back in. On this day, he stayed just long enough to give my dad a shot opportunity. My dad made a good double lung shot at twenty yard and the pig only made it about fifty yard before crashing into the thickest, nastiest brush on the ranch. After a short recovery, we began with the LDPs.

We dropped off the pig with a meat processor and had him weighed so we know what the actual weight is, but I was curious to get some educated opinions. You won't actually win a stuffed animal or anything. I just wanted some guesses because I can't believe how many people have asked if he weighs 500 pounds after seeing the LDP. All guesses are welcome and there is no purchase necessary, just step right up and guess the weight.
