Leon county rut activity???

Anyone seeing any rut activity in Leon county yet? And if so what part?

I hunt in Houston County, just E/SE of Leon.

We usually see the most rutting activity right around Halloween weekend and into the first week of November.

We've got lots of scrapes and rubs right now. Also, have TC pictures of bucks sparing and watched some bucks pushing does this weekend while hunting.

Bucks are ready, does are getting closer.

I'm seeing nothing. No scrapes, rubs, nothing. This time last year I had 3 active scrapes on my little 21 acres and several rub lines on my lease about 5 miles away. I guess I spooked off all the deer.

I've seen a few small bucks with groups of does but nothing really good yet.

Last year they were rutting wide open in early to mid October.

Seems to be a bit slow this year. I hope its not one of those years where we don't see a real prominent rut. Those are the worst.

Maybe this year its going to fall real close to the opening of rifle season like it historically does.

Well I'll be out here for a week so I was hoping there was some movement towards rut but we will see.

I'm slumming on the east side with you. Nada for us.... Saw several small bucks pushing does around.

Unfortunately the hogs have pushed most of my deer out. So I probably don't have a true gauge of what they're doing. I did get this cool 6 pt. on camera Sunday while I was hunting a different area.

Hogs have ran most of the deer off from mine as well. I plan to put a little hurtin on them at Hilltop Monday and Tuesday next week. I'm about out of sausage

We have some average bucks on camera... There was definitely more activity this time last year. Should really pick up in a couple of weeks.

But ya I'm averaging about 15 -35 pigs a night at my feeder between 10pm-4am

About the same in roberston co. My son shot a nice nine point on opening day.you could smell him from 20 yardy's away before you got there. Not much going on now. Maybe the change in weather this weekend will get them moving again.
