                  Thanks for the comments, we just ate the first backstrap from him and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised as several people told me mule deer weren't the best eating. The texture is a little less firm than whitetail; but, the taste and overall impression was spot on.

                    I had to skip out on my NM mule deer hunt this year. Tough decision, but the best for me.

                    Congrats on an awesome mulie. I want one with a bow pretty bad.
