Looks like the exact shot my girlfriend made on her elk a couple weeks ago. They found him 2 days ago.

Court, my GW would write you up for dispatching a bow wounded deer during archery season. You might win in court but...
I will leave the pot smoking up to you. I would rather finish him than let the coyotes tear him apart. You are probably the guy that drives 60 in the fast lane. I have finished multiple deer that were hit by cars. Warden did not have a problem with it.

I'm gonna take a nap, when I wake up, I expect to see some awesome LDP's including a full autopsy with accompanying photos You'll find him, stay positive!

That shot was too far forward. Do not risk running him even farther.

GET A GOOD DOG NOW!!! Call Kevin Dubose in Dilley at 830-965-2787. You should have that deer in your hands in less than an hour when he gets there. There is NO REASON to keep pushing that deer on your own.

Shot a doe opening weekend exactly like this. She was stuck at 715 and died at 4pm ( close to it at least). we checked on her several times and couldn't get an arrow to her, so we backed out and waited. it took a while. Last check was at 230pm . We decided to hunt evening hunt and come back to her........when we did......at 730, the buzzards had their way with her. Sad. Next time I think I'll come in for a finishing shot and take my chances at jumping her.

How far away were you? That deer looked primed for a belly crawling stalk, wind permitting.

At this point in the game no range is un-ethical.
