There are some really good rams out there right now. Out of all the hunters I have seen on both trips...I have been the only ram hunter. Everybody else was after pigs.
I have a group(all air force guys) going in March or spring break...whichever works out better for us schedule wise and we are reserving the ranch for our group for two days.. My wife and I are also going out there in Octoberish. You are more than welcome to attend either trip.
I am still on the list for an ibex. Bags are packed....just waiting on them to call me.

I'm sorry my thread isn't SHORT enough for you.

Not saying there is, or there isn't, but I've never seen an arapawa ram in the US, nor one with hair. Factor in that a solid white arapawa ram is probably as rare as an albino whitetail ... I'd say you killed the Loch Ness monster!
I hope your taxidermist doesn't mix up these capes!
Awesome trophy, either way!

Arapawa are basically a feral breed of wool sheep descendant from animals released by the Cook expedition on NZ. They have curly wool.
Karkuhl is an early breed of hair sheep from the middle east. Their wool doesn't curl nearly as much as a wool sheep like a merino b/c they are from warm arid climates.
Most outfitters are not breed specialists - if something looks different, they slap a label on it that they've heard before and sounds like it will sell.
