Dead deer in a tree

Either a fake or someone hung him there and did not return for some reason. Hung one once overnight like that because it was too dark and too cold that night. It sure made for easy quartering the next morning.

Long ago when I was a kid my sister shot a buck and I went out to track it with my dad, scared the hell out of us when we spotted it but it had jumped and the rack was stuck in a fork of the tree high enough so that the hind feet were not even touching the ground. EDIT: It was dead of course.

we've had cows do this during a flood, they get tired of holding their head out of water so they'll find a fork in a tree to rest it in, eventually they just get tired and go down, hanging they're head it in and getting stuck there.

I've heard of poachers hanging deer like this to take the meat they want and leaving the rest of the carcass there....maybe?
