I've heard the penalty for corn theft is pretty serious in the deer world... this is proof positive.

Never seen it.
But I did find one of my 2YO brangus bulls dead in a fork of a mesquite one time. I guess another bull rolled him fighting and his hind leg hung in the fork of a mesquite about 3ft high and there a 2000 dollar bull died.
