    .223 question

This may be a dumb question, but my wife shoots a .223 and needs ammo...Well i noticed 2 different types of ammo ex.) .223WSSM and .223 REM 5.56X45? The 5.56X45 is cheaper on ammoengine.com but i'm not sure if it would work. Any help appreciated.

2 different calibers and cases. Make sure which one your wife's rifle is before buying. They won't interchange. Winchester Super Short Magnum has a short & fat case compared to the Remington.

      You need .223remington ammo.

223wssm is a super short mag

5.56 is a no no in a 223 chambered rifle

if it says .223rem then a wssm wont even chamber. in fact, the wssm casing is short enough that i dont think the 223rem will chamber in that one because it is too long. 5.56x45 is a NATO round and has a higher gas pressure than 223 so as said before, dont use it. it is identical outside, but meant for killin little brown men

It is, but what is the 5.56x45mm in parenthesis for?

Those are full metel jacket bullets that are just fine for plinking but are a no no for shooting wild game. Head shot hog maybe........

I would recommend these for deer.

Yeah, not the best ammo in the world, but it'll work and it's cheap.

hmmm. I don't know where I have been cause I have never heard of a FMJ hollowpoint. Will a solid metel jacket with a hollow point actually expand on impact?
