Can I take a cigarette break at 50 then do the other 50?

I started doing push up about three weeks ago at first i could only do 30. I am up to 50 now doing them every other day. That first 30 like to have killed me. I am in for going for a hundred. As for the quitting smoking thing that was the hardest thing i have ever done. I decided i wanted to be able to breath when i got older so i quit and never looked back.

The Army(at least the one I was in) does'nt use the "chest to fist" requirement. But they were adamant as to sticking to this "form". The important part was making sure to break the plane of your elbows, why be penalized by someone else with little girley fists.

For normal push-ups, the start position begins with the hands shoulder width apart, elbows fully extended, BODY straight and the feet together or up to 12 inches apart.

To complete a repetition, the trainee lowers his/her BODY , maintaining a straight back, until the upper arm is parallel with the ground, then returns to the start position. Once the two-minute push-up period has started, trainees may not lift their arms or legs off the ground. They may rest in the "start" position. They may also bend at the waist and the knees to relax the back, always maintaining 4-point contact with the ground. Before resuming push-ups, they must return to the start position.

Why not. I have my baseline (46) and I'll start the program on Monday.

                                I do 50 on a semi-regular basis.

I could probably stretch that out some but I doubt I could double that with any kind of form. I guess I need to try and see.

There's some amazing video on crossfit.com of a dude knocking out 100 kipping pull ups...
