For the wheels and conveyor to turn, the plane has to move forward. There's no other way for them to turn. The only way the wheels and conveyor stop turning is if the plane stops moving forward. At what point does the plane stop moving forward, and the wheels stop turning if the engines are still at full thrust?

It doesn't stop moving forward, it takes off. Watch the video in post #125. ALL OF IT.

That was my point. I already watched. I also already knew the answer before I watched.

If the conveyor belt is setup to match the speed of the tires it doesn't matter how much thrust the Jet has. When the Jet moves forward the belt will match the speed and the jet will never move forward enough to create lift. The jet won't go anywhere. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

the thrust of the engines is not acting upon the tires. It is pushing air and will move. Think about it....with the thrust the plane will not remain stationary regardless of what the tires are doing.

You stick to being wrong with the rest of the guys that cant understand that an airplane dont work like a car

What a thread. Change the wheels on the plane to skates and freeze the treadmill. Does that help those that can’t picture it? The plane is moving forward at 100mph so the treadmill is going 100mph but it doesn’t matter because the skates (or wheels) have no effect on the propulsion of the plane.

So, why not just remove the wheels and tires from the plane?

OMG this is so embarrassing please lock this thread. There is no trick ok people. A treadmill has 0 affect on an airplane. It flys no problem like it does every day

free wheeling tires are the best way to get to speed. But understand that the massive jet blast behind the plane is not acting upon the wheels or the runway. with thrust the plane is moving 180 degrees from the direction of the thrust. it is really easy to comprehend if you think about it.

This thread is funny as hell but but can’t hold a candle to the pace forum.

Cuz they're super handy for landing...either on a runway or a conveyor. Which begs the question. If this magic conveyor is gonna match wheel speed-what happens when it lands? ...cuz the wheels won't be turning when it lands!
