    Tractor Pole Barn

I’m getting a quote on a pole barn to store a tractor, trailer, and implements. A contractor is recommending a 20x30 pole barn. I’m wondering if I should put 3 sides on the pole barn or make it bigger. Also what kind of prices are y’all seeing?

If you guys have pics please send them. I’m wanting ideas. I’m a visual learner.

Talked to a buddy the other day. He got a 40x30 one large door one small. For under $15 sq ft

But they were needing to get it done. Company had a lull they needed to fill. Texwin

My tractor shed is 36x36 with a 12 foot lean to on 1 side. 36 foot is deep enough to park a decent size tractor with mower attached, and have room at the back for some storage. Each bay is 12 wide by 36 deep and metal only on 3 sides.

Make it as big as you can afford. Last one we built was 30x80x14 with 20' wide bays & a 3' eyebrow on high side. All pipe & 8" purlins. Closed in on 3 sides, with the long side facing north. Stays nice and dry in there. Remember rpanel sheets are 36" wide, so build in multiples of 3, or you will be cutting/lapping.

I just did a 24'x90' equipment shed, enclosed on 3 sides. Was about $15/ft installed with no slab.

I agree with the others here, a 20x30 is pretty small, or it will be soon as soon as you start putting other things in there with the tractor(tools, tires/wheels, racks, etc.) I have a 30x40 and its OK but would love a 40x60 now, with roll-up doors and a bathroom!

True words. My next barn will be 10000'x10000'. I don't know where I'll fit it, but I do know it'll be full in a couple of months.

Following this as well. This is all super helpful. Anyone have photos of their setups?

I did a 60x60 with a 10ft porch and wish I did a 60x100. It fills up fast. Built mine in 2020, 32k for heavy equip slab, 45K for shell, 5k for 14x14 insulated doors, and 2k for entry doors and windows. 20$ per foot. I am happy, but that sucker is full to the brim between boat, sxs, mower, farm chit, house storage chit, tools, etc.

                          Go bigger

Remember this isn’t a legit shop. This is just a dirt floor, 3 sided shed. But I’m starting to think 40x60 is better.
