    The Alerts are for your virus program being out of date. If it is expired and won't update the whole app probably needs to be upgraded. These are just notifications, you can look at the list if you have a bunch. You won't run anything if you look at them, you can hit the X to close them out. The one is listed as 'ask you' you can google and here's what's on Apple community;

    You have Malware that started in your browser and now has notifications turned on.
    Turn off notifications for “Ask you”
    Reset Safari or clean it out of Safari

    Also check for mac ios updates. Keep current on latest ones, especially on iPhones. If it won't support any of the newer ones, time to replace device.

        If he would quit googling big bootie hoes,that would probably solve most of his problems.

            I hate that I am only just now seeing your post because, while I am not computer savvy, I do know that any claim that your Mac is infected with a "virus" is a scam.

            When I get unusual messages like this on my screen, especially one with a call to action, the first thing I do is...nothing. Don't click on it, don't even click out of it.

            Next, open up another tab in Safari and enter a description of the message box in the search field (URL field). In my experience, it is to your advantage to keep the search verbiage as rudimentary as possible (opens up a broader field of responses for whatever reason). In the example you provided in the first image you included, I searched for "critical virus alert renew antivirus upper right hand corner message box MacBook Pro." This yielded a greater number of results from qualified users within Apple communities.

            I'm sure by now you've already addressed the issue...successfully, I hope. Either way, I share this information with you--for whatever it's worth--should you need it in the future.

              Nope, not yet. I did the Malwarebytes download and scan...nothing found. Antiviruszap downloaded and scanned...nothing. I had trouble doing the Sophos download, Rob.

              Do I need to remove other Antivirus programs before downloading a new one?

              Actually, I have not...still getting the popups every few minutes, and I have not clicked on them. I got frustrated and just quit...traded called with my company's IT folks. They don't seem too concerned since this is my personal laptop and not the company's.

              I fixin to eat, then I will get back on it.

                Can't help with a Mac.

                With a PC, I'd suggest when the pop-up to press alt + f4 to see if it closes the window. Or go to task manager and close them. If that works clear all browser history and it usually stops. Just walked my mom through this and fixed hers.
