    Glad it worked out, and I think your Mom did the right thing throughout. I couldn't imagine letting it lay there and get eaten up by fire ants.

          I saved a fawn a few years back "1990" it was drowning in a bayou.
          Took it to the house and cleaned it up and bottle fed it till it was good enough to walk around with the goats we had.
          It was a buck and I named it Lucky-B.
          Sad part is, after having him almost a year and he had nubs, the billy goat stomped him to death! I was really P*ssed off and killed that goat.
          This deer was like a pet dog. He would come to you when you called him.

          If the fawn is not reunited with the doe, I would either find some one or take care of it myself.

              Good deal, glad the doe took it back. She did right, what kind of nut would leave a baby deer in a fire ant bed???
