Just had my wife's 2019 done at no charge. 58k miles.

"What is the Ford Powertrain Warranty? The Powertrain Warranty covers components such as the engine, transmission, and drivetrain. It begins at the Warranty Start Date and lasts for 5 years or 60,000 miles, whichever occurs first."

Pay the $3400. They have to take pretty much every accessory off the front of that motor, pulleys and all, to get the timing covers off.

I had a 2018 3.5l Ecoboost that started doing the rattle on cold start ups. Ended up trading it in around 40k miles, glad I did.

I have the cold start rattle in our 2018.

              Been considering the same thing.

I got it in my 2018 at 132,000 they did the "computer programming" to fix it and it did nothing but with my mileage the recall does nothing for me

I had a 2011 F150 with the 3.5 Ecoboost motor, and it had the cam phaser rattle from about 100k up. I think I traded it in with 225k, and a lot of the mechanics that saw the odometer were shocked.

I would jump on that deal from Kingranch. I did my own and the parts were more than that, but then again I changed the chains, guides, tensioners and all the seals in the valve covers......this is what I do for a living and you won't beat the price he qouted you. At least I wouldn't do it for that.

I may take you up on this......Bill Utter in Denton gave me the $3400 quote. My wife started complaining to the salesman at Grand Prairie Ford about it. We've bought several from him. He told us to bring it to him tomorrow and he will see what he can do. I may get back with you on this after that....

My wife’s expid is waiting on its second set. Ford is helping on this set since it’s been under two years.

                            Cam Phasers anyone?

My 2013 f150 with 200,500 miles on it does the cam phaser rattle on start up. Had a mechanic look at it and he said that it wasn’t worth the cost to do it with that many miles on it. I have been adding Lucas oil to it and make sure it stays all the way up to the full mark on the oil stick and it doesn’t rattle anymore until it gets low.

First thing I did with my 2019 chevy is put a piggyback tuner into the OBD port and disable the DFM & VVT. Why don't more Ford owners do this?
I can't see any difference in fuel mileage except all in town driving. Hwy mileage is still the same.

We have an 18 expedition and it did the first phaser incident about a year and a half ago. Went In And had them replaced under our extended warranty plan. A year later they went out again. Ford dealer that started the warranty claim was too “busy” and said dont worry. Car will still function but be noisy. Finally had time to fix it and did but would you know by now the cats were out cause of the excessive fuel it had been dumping. Not under warranty. They fixed everything but rolled a gasket and burnt half the oil up driving home from the dealer. After all these issues we are now at a different dealer for a new oil leak associated with the phaser repair. Hope this new small town shop can provide better service. We are not in a position to trade in and it only has 120k anyhow.
