Excellent all around. Thanks, everyone. Looks like I will be giving Market Basket a shot next week in Groves. Going to try a few different kinds.

In my opinion BS and MBs boudin are relatively close and they both blow DJs out of the water.

I've been eating Best Stop Boudin since 1981. It is still good but know where near where it was since going mass production. For the past 5+ years or so I have always picked Market Basket Boudin over BS and had the same results on many taste tests with groups when doing comparisons. From what I am told each store makes there own so its still relatively smaller batch processing.
For the OP, I'd get some of both. Market Basket and Best Stop from the local store since it is available. Variety is the spice of life so why have just one.
I am taking a note on the DJ's and will give it try. Sometimes we dont have any on deck in the freezer and need a fix. lol. Store bought mass produced boudin is always cooked on the grill or smoker when I'm doing the serving.
Noticed some comments where made about all the big names joints, Billy's, Don's etc. I agree. there are much better, small batch processing meat markets that deliver a much better product. A few of my favorites are Legnon's Boucherie in New Iberia, NuNu's Market in Youngsville, Johnson's Boucanier in Lafayette, In-Laws in Iowa
Speaking of Best Stop, has anyone tried their Crawfish boudin. They just started making it recently I saw somewhere on social media. I am wanting to try it, they have never made it before in all these years. I remember asking Mr. Cormier years ago when he worked behind the meat case every day and he never was interested, that's back in the day when Comeaux's was the place to go and they introduced the first crawfish boudin in the late 70's.Last edited by dbaio1; 04-27-2023, 09:17 AM.

Insane's enchilada is pretty decent for a change up. I always pick up a few packs when I am going thru the area. For me a typical run back home has me stopping at 4 or 5 places and a few coolers full of variety lol.
