TPWD Increases License Fees

$68 is easy,cost me more to process smoked sausage(DIY -I know)or it will be the first tank of gas either way we will all pay. I dont pay for leases so I cant complain.

I am just to old to buy a life time license. I did not see what the senior license increase will be. Does anyone know about that? I would have to live to 100 to make the life time license pay out. Guess I will just buy the thing from year to year.

Just got off the phone and confirmed that the old price will apply if application is received in Austin by August 15th. Mine and my two boys applications go in the mail today. Can't think of a better christmas present for them. Might take them a few years to realize the value of it but they'll get it.
Don't forget, you have to surrender your current license with the application. The lady told me to make a copy of license and application to hold on to until I receive the lifetime license.

I wish they would have had the Lifetime when I was a young man...

it will pay for itself in 14 years at the current rate. But if prices contiune to go up (they will), then it should pay for itself in about 9 years.

Its not going to stop me from buying a license..68 bucks seems cheap to me for all the enjoyment I get!

X2!...an increase every couple of years by 5% or so just means they're trying to keep up with inflation...small price to pay for all the fun I have!

It really blows my mind that so many people on here are bitching about an increase in license fees. It seems to me that if everyone on here was half as conservation minded and they claim to be, they would understand and support the increase. Maybe all the negative nancies need to do a little research into what your license fees actually pay for......????

I understand that, I'm more unhappy with the price of gaining access to quality hunting land than the price of the license. I'll pay for my boy's licenses for life but they may not be able to afford Texas hunting in 15 or 20 years.
