Best way to kill a tree?

There's an abandoned house behind my warehouse. In the corner of the lot, up against the fence is a tree taking over the world. It's causing damage to the slab, branching over into my phone lines and dropping some sort of berries (look like blackberries) all over the place.

Is there anything I can pour around the base to kill this thing?

    Thanks in advance!

fire, chainsaw, backhoe, frontend loader, bull dozer, C-4 - your choice

                  stomp rot might work

Funny, that's the same reason I ended up with a can of spike...I'll be stopping by the farm on the way home from work and will get the info and forward it on.

There is a chemical called imazapyr (sp?) sold under the label of Sahara and several others. It will kill almost anything. It has a 12 month residual and oaks are very, very sensitive.

Probly a mulberry tree. I don't know how to kill it though, but I'd be careful about getting caught-you might end up in front of a tree huggin judge

...or Ecomazapyr, its the same thing just cheaper I believe.

Removing the bark in a ring will work also as Loneaggie said.

start using it for a shade tree and start enjoying doing things under it.
                              That always works for me.
