I think spin class is the devil...

Maybe that is why I keep doing it. I am a girl, but there are lots of boys in the class and it is very challenging... No doubt.

        Spinners?!!
Keep your card brother. Diabetes seems to run rampant in my family, both sides. You need to keep in check. I would like to offer some advice for you and everyone reading this. Get a book entitled "LIVING THE G.I. DIET" by Rick Gallup. It is not a diet but a lifestyle, with some great recipes. My results after 1 1/2 years was no more high blood pressure, no more blood sugar swings, went from 225 to 175. I 'll add that I ate more food and didn't give up beer, coffee, BBQ. Healthiest thing I have ever done. My wife (small woman) gained 5 lbs and got off the high cholesteral med.
        Highly recommended.

I've done it and there ain't nothin girly about it...have fun tryin to keep up with the girls. It's pretty intense if you give a 100%. Great exercise. Stick with it and you will be in great shape.

Get healthy for your kids sake. You will be amazed how much better you will feel when you excercise regularly.

Spin classes ain't no joke. I've done a couple and they will wear you out. I prefer to go at my own pace, so I'm more of an elliptical machine type of guy. Bad knees and ankles can't take the pounding of treadmill or running on the road. Good luck with that, you'll soon see that no turning in of your man card is required.

My daughter does the spinning class, and says it can be really, really tough depending on the instructor.

Real men don't do Zuma, that could cause card cancellation.

I just did a class last night to help with my triathlon training while I look for a road bike. As long as you're not doing strip aerobics or kick boxing class you should be fine with your masculine status.

                    man card

I would have to agree with everyone else, keep that card brotha! It's all about being there for your kids. I recently took up some exercising myself after much coercion from the wife, and besides killing my legs after yesterday's workout i've never felt better. Lost about 20 pounds so far and still got about 35 to go, even planning on running a half marathon this fall. Keep it up, you're the only DAD your kids will have!

No response about the book I recommended. Y'all really need to get it. It will keep you here a bit longer for your wife and kids.

I was too worried about passing out during the first class to even remember if there were any good looking ladies there. Keep the card, you may need it for identification purposes.
                          LMAO!!!!

I concur with the sentiments of the TBH brotherhood. There is nothing girly about spin class. If you have a good instructor, it can kick your hind end.

Is having your fingers and toe's cutoff, going blind, etc, too girly for ya? Get your butt on that bike or go dancing or whatever. Man card won't do you any good if ya dead. Them children deserve for you and the Missus to take care of ya selves. Now get your butts moving. If you want, I'll help you develop a training plan that is short, and effective, for free. Let me know.

The first couple of spinning classes will beat you bad! Just remember most of the folks in there have been doing them for a long time and you do not have to keep up with them. You are doing this so you will be around for your children so pace yourself. If you stay with it a decent pair of cycling shorts and shoes will help. I agree with grabbing a bike in the back.

Love the photo of the rider, Bill
